Land Battle - Re-EnActors at Fort Gaines
Photo by Mike Henderson, Exec Dir, DI Park and Beach Board
"Thunder On The Gulf" an event at Historic Fort Gaines May, 1999.
Re-EnActors from many states display the Union troops advancing
on the Fort's defending Rebel troops.
These re-enactors, all volunteers, use black power weapons,
with (of course) blank loads, as do the cannons.
Spectators view the mock battle from the fort battlements.
Two schooner, "tall ships" were part of the event.
